Description

A collection of vases resulting from interaction processes. Developed using the Processing and Grasshopper languages for Estudio Guto Requena and commissioned by Guardian Glass.

The project was showcased at the 2016 Il Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Italy.

Mrs. Terezinha is well-known for the enthusiasm with which she narrates her beloved fables. The primary goal of this project was to translate her fables, as well as her vocal excitement, into 3D.

Roles

  • Coordination of all project stages, acting as a liaison between clients and suppliers

  • Conceptualization of the main idea: translating sound information into 3D spatial guidelines

  • Production of visual and technical projects

  • 3D modeling and programming

  • Development of a software capable of translating vocal information into 3D using Processing and Grasshopper languages

  • Oversight of the production of the 4 hand-blown glass vessels

The development begins with recording Mrs. Terezinha's voice as she tells a fable.
These sound waves are then converted into curves, which shape the sides of the vases in the collection. Each vase represents the vocal spectrum of a fable told.
